Dear Dad, Thank you for eyes to see. Really see. I imagine when your Son Jesus walked the earth He missed no one, particuarly the one’s hidden in plain sight. It is an honor to follow the One Who gave up everything for me.

Today you reminded me of the beauty in seeing – in kindness and care. A friend I had not seen for quite some time I’m certain was divinely orchestrated by your sovereign hands in this evening stroll. As I pass by her, an evening exchange of hello’s began. She continued. Do you remember when you spoke to me that day I was outside planting? I was using watermelon seeds. I wasn’t doing very well. Those flowers blossomed so beautifully and quickly. I don’t know if it was the watermelon seeds or your prayer? I grinned so deep from within for I knew You had touched her. My reply, I’d like to believe it was both. God touched you and the work of your hands. We both smiled. She continues,

I’ll always remember that day

Me too. I remember that day so vividly. It was a late afternoon stroll. I saw her nestled down tending to her beautiful flowers and yard. A warm exchange and life speaking words began to flow. Then, the breeze. A perfect gentle breeze began to blow. You could feel the fresh wind on your face and see the tree limbs swaying. It was like all of heaven was surrounding us. The presence of God was so tangible. I remember her looking up and around. Do you feel that? Oh yes. It was the breeze of God’s presence. I remember walking away so touched by our encounter. Who would have known the greatest exchange was taking place between Your two daughters?

Now here we are again. My friends smile and countenance radiant this new day as she shared her story and all the precious moments of her day. This sacred moment in time and the power of love and kindness. Another exchange. Yet this time she spoke life to me. I’ll always remember that day, too. This is beauty. True beauty.

For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7
